Can I interview SNEHA staff for my project/film?
Thank you for your interest in SNEHA. We are mostly unable to respond to requests for interviews or participation in student projects. We have resources on our website where you can learn more about issues we work on, including domestic violence and child sexual abuse, and we encourage you to refer to those. In case you are using material from our website or social media pages, remember to cite SNEHA and reference our work.
Can I interview or shoot SNEHA beneficiaries who are malnourished or victims of domestic or gender-based violence?
We appreciate your interest in bringing about awareness to these topics. However, our privacy and ethics policies prevent us from arranging interactions or video/photo shoots with our beneficiaries.
Can you sit on my Internal Complaints Committee as an NGO representative of our Committee against Sexual Harassment (CASH) or Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)?
We are presently serving several companies on such committees andare unable to take on positions in any new committees. However should there be an opportunity to be on more committees, we will keep our website updated.
Can you connect me to your beneficiaries and help me sell my products to them?
As a non-profit organization working on specialized health topics with specific outcomes and impact, we are unable to participate in commercial activities such as the sale of goods and products. We do not encourage promotion or sale of any products or services to our beneficiaries through SNEHA.
Can I donate used items to SNEHA?
SNEHA does not distribute any new or used products in the communities we serve. We have limited, if any, need for in-kind donations, for our beneficiaries. However, if you would like to support our work financially, please make an online donation.
Can I Volunteer with SNEHA?
SNEHA offers volunteering opportunities to students who are qualified and experienced in the areas of Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Fundraising and Communication. These opportunities are need based and pro-bono. Interested volunteers are required to commit their time as mutually agreed to SNEHA and abide by the rules and regulations of the organization. Interested applicants can submit their intent form and the team will reach out to you in case of a requirement.
Can I volunteer or work with SNEHA’s beneficiaries as a counsellor, therapist or psychologist?
We do not permit our volunteers or interns to work directly with our beneficiaries. We have trained psychologists, therapists and counsellors who work with women and children affected by violence. Our volunteering opportunities are restricted to fundraising, communications, administration and research.
Can I do an internship or research assistantship with SNEHA to fulfill an academic requirement or course credit?
SNEHA has hosted several undergraduate and graduate (including doctoral) students from around the world in the past. We welcome applications for internships and volunteering if there is a skill-set and interest match. Every request is reviewed on a case-to-case basis. Please contact us specifying your area of interest and we will get back to you.
Can I use some pictures from your website or social media sites for my news story?
We require you to secure prior written permission from us to use any of our images, infographics, text, content or publication. Please write to communications@snehamumbai.org for any media queries, and refer to our media kit.
Can I get a grant from SNEHA as an NGO working on domestic violence?
We are not a grant-giving agency, and therefore do not provide grants or funds to other NGOs. In case you would like to learn about SNEHA’s models and modes of working, please contact us.
How do CSR partnerships with SNEHA work?
Learn more about the CSR programmes we have undertaken in the past, or contact us.
