The SNEHA Team
The SNEHA team is a dynamic group of 350+ individuals. At the helm, leading this
committed team, is a group of men and women with decades of experience who are dedicated
to SNEHA's work.
She has worked with Citibank India for 21 years and in her last position was Director
- Citigroup Private Bank. Vanessa holds a graduate degree in Economics (Hons) and
a Masters degree in Business Administration (Marketing). Her hobbies include cooking,
traveling and reading.
Dr. Shanti Pantvaidya
She was a medical teacher for 35 years and served as Professor and Head of Anaesthesiology
Services at LTMG Hospital for 20 years, where she was instrumental in establishing
and coordinating the Emergency Medical Services at LTMG Hospital. She has been a
Project Coodinator at SNEHA, looking at standardizing and implementing clinical
maternal and newborn services in public hospitals through the City Initiative for
Newborn Health project.
Dr. Nayreen Daruwalla
Programme Director for Prevention Of Violence against Women and Children & EHSAS (Empowerment, Health & Sexuality of Adolescents)
Having qualified with a Doctorate in Social Psychology, her 18 years of experience
have been in the area of mental health – counseling, crisis intervention,
and training. She has worked extensively in the field of violence against women
and children abroad and in India for 12 years. She is fond of reading and traveling.
Neena Shah More
Programme Director Advocacy and Model Replication
With a M.A. in Social Work, Neena joined SNEHA in April 2002 and spent 2 years on
the Mother and Child Friendly Hospital Project before joining City Initiative for
Newborn Health as a project coordinator. She has 21 years work experience in 7 different
organizations including SNEHA. She enjoys reading, walking, traveling, and her pets.
Programme Director Child Health and Nutrition
Sushma has 19 years of experience in handling health system research and development projects in tribal and urban areas. Having qualified with a Masters in Science, Anthropology, she has been working with SNEHA since 2002 and has managed the large programmes. Before Joining SNEHA she has worked with two distinguished organizations including BAIF. Her expertise includes strengthening public health systems, developing public private partnerships and implementation research. Her hobbies are traveling and listening to music.
Programme Director, Maternal and Newborn Health
Smriti Acharya has a post graduate degree in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a graduate degree in Psychology from Bombay University. She has engaged with different state and central governments, bilateral agencies and, several NGOs to impact health of women and children, child rights, prevent HIV/AIDS infections and facilitate prison reforms. She loves travelling and fitted well in the diverse cultures she has visited across India. She will willingly give up anything and everything for high altitude trekking.
Anuja completed a PhD in Agricultural, Environmental and Regional Economics and
Demography from the Pennsylvania State University, USA and has over 10 years of
rich and varied international experience in the field of development. Her research
focuses on areas of non - income dimensions of well - being including health (maternal
and child health, HIV / AIDS), housing and education in the context of South Asia
and Africa. In her free time likes to play with her daughter, run and quilt (beginner
A Chartered Accountant by profession, Archana joined SNEHA in May 2010. She has
18 years of experience in the field of Accounting, Internal Auditing, Taxation,
Bank Audits, and NGO Audits. She has earlier been associated as a consultant with
organizations like The Akanksha Foundation, Teach for India. Her hobbies are listening
to music and travelling.
Chief of Staff
Kyoko has over 10 years of experience in the corporate sector and then in global
health. With an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, she has
worked for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Switzerland
and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Senegal, and has been a senior
consultant with Deloitte's strategy & operations practice.
Change Management Specialist
Paari has over 5 years of experience in the corporate sector including investment
banking at Goldman Sachs and strategy consulting at Bain. He is fond of playing tennis,
dancing and trekking.
Human Resource Manager
Human Resource Professional with more than 13 years of experience in
Functional and Strategic HR Consulting. She brings expertise in the
areas of Talent Management, Organization Design & Change Management,
Performance Management System Design, Integrated HR, Leadership Assessment & Development,
Training Need Analysis & Implementation. She loves performing arts and is the happiest when performing on stage.
Manager – Purchase & Administration
A commerce graduate, Aparna joined SNEHA in June 2007. She has worked in a variety
of settings in the service sector and brings 16 years of experience with her. She
is fond of music, reading and creative designing.
Manager Capability Building and Learning Development
She has qualifications in human processes and organizational change. She has been
in the not - for - profit sector for the past 13 years for the thrill of variety.
She likes to engage in conversations with people, read OSHO and enjoys Hindi film
Manager, Communications and fund Raising
Sharmila has qualifications in Hospital Administration and Communication. She has
worked in a corporate and a not for profit environment and brings this to bear
on her job at SNEHA. She likes to backpack to offbeat destinations and dabbles with
creative writing and light classical music
Programme Coordinator, Livelihood
Having worked as project coordinator of SNEHA Shakti, specifically with the care
and support centre for senior citizens, Heart - to - Heart project, and the health
services, Naina currently coordinates the Livelihood Program. Since the year 2000,
she has worked with the crèche, the hospital on wheels for street children's project.
Having qualified with a Masters in Social Work, she previously worked in the MSW
Department of the LTMG hospital, the Paraplegic Foundation, and as an MDACS counselor
for HIV / AIDS. She loves Hindustani classical music.
Hamsini is a trained journalist with an academic background in Development Studies.
In the last five years, she has worked with both donors and NGOs in helping them
tell their stories and implement their communications strategies. She enjoys reading,
traveling and cooking.
